No Matter How Great the Storm, We Shall Not Be Shaken, for the Lord Is at the Helm

“He makes the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still” (Psalm 107:29).

When the storms of life strike, we often feel fearful and uneasy. However, this verse reminds us that God has the power to calm the raging wind and still the waves. The storms of life may come in various forms, such as health problems, relationship troubles, financial pressures, or internal struggles and confusion. In the face of these difficulties, we tend to feel helpless and desperate, like a boat tossed about on the tumultuous sea. But we have a God of infinite power, who can pacify the storm and grant us peace. Just as recorded in the Bible, Jesus Christ once calmed the wind and the sea, demonstrating to His disciples His authority over nature. In the same way, when we cry out to God in the midst of our life’s storms, He will hear our prayers and help us in His wondrous ways, allowing us to find a haven in the storm.

May we, when facing life’s challenges and setbacks, not sink into despair and fear. Instead, let us fix our eyes on God who can make the storm a calm and the waves still. Let us trust in His promises and firmly believe that under His guidance, we will surely pass through the storm and welcome the peace and tranquility of life.
